Enough to catch up and totally whoop the Xbox 360 perhaps? Microsoft‘s Aaron Greenberg isn’t particularly bothered by the idea:

I think they’re struggling frankly because of the economic situation. We were fortunate to be able to drop to the US$ 199 price point. They are stuck at twice the price.

I think we feel good about the price point we’re at today. We’re not too worried about it. Our belief is we will be able to continue to deliver more entertainment … at a better value even if they dropped (the price) by US$ 100. We would still maintain a price advantage.

We feel like even before you think about the price, the Xbox offers a lot more in addition to being a better value.

Remember when Sony sent out that press release outlining all the points why the PlayStation 3 was better than the competition, calling Microsoft an add-on peddler? Well, here’s what Greenberg has to say about that:

We shouldn’t force (consumers) to pay for something they (don’t want) to use. I sure wouldn’t want to trade places with them — this is probably their worst … holiday in history.

And that concludes today’s bout of mud slinging. Now remember folks, leave the fanboy mudslinging to Sony and Microsoft. It’s their job.
