In May 2008, Miyamoto also came up on #1 of Time’s 100 Most Influential People list, an honor that still holds some measure of truth today. In 2009, the list got Marble Caked but he still showed up at #42.
The Wii and DS also soaked up in some spotlight in the awards, having received the Distinguished Service Award for having “further expanded the horizons of gaming culture”.
All that from the guy who says he won’t even get into Nintendo now with his college creds. He now spends some of his time checking the aspiring Nintendo applicants for the potential that CVs can’t show. Great guy.
