Miyamoto loves Star Fox, disappointed in series’ declining sales
Shigeru Miyamoto has an impressive record when it comes to successful games. The Mario franchise alone is as big a cash cow as a game franchise can get. Still, the man has his share of disappointments. The Star Fox series is one of them.

Miyamoto recently expressed his disappointment that the Star Fox series didn’t quite take off as he had hoped. Speaking to MTV Multiplayer, he said,
I’m a big fan of the Star Fox games. Every time we make a Star Fox game I’m hoping people will enjoy it as much as I do. Of course the goal every time is to try and make it more and more fun but, at least in Japan, the people that purchase the Star Fox games has decreased over the years. But we still try to make them more fun and hopefully people will see the appeal in those games.
If a man of Miyamoto’s influence and stature likes doing barrel rolls that much, maybe we can indeed count on a new Star Fox game in the future.
