More details on Toys ‘R’ Us New York Wii midnight launch
Nintendo’s having a party of its own to welcome the newest member of its gaming family – and most probably yours, too – the Nintendo Wii. On the eve of November 18th, Toys ‘R’ Us will play host to the much-awaited midnight launch of Wii.
Over at the Times Square branch of Toys ‘R’ Us, Nintendo President Reggie Fils-Aime will be making a special appearance to personally sell the first Wii. With interactive gameplay, music, games, and a whole lot more, the party begins at 8:00 p. m.
And with the countdown to midnight starting at 11:45 p. m., everyone’s set to feel the excitement. Hmm…we wonder if there would be any Wiis to be dropped over at Times Square, like what they usually do for New Year.
Anyway, there will be live entertainment from acrobats and a DJ, so that ought to keep you people entertained while waiting. But even more exciting than that is the opening of the stores come 12:01 a. m. of the 19th for the official release of Wii to the market. And after that, of course, consumer-reactions to the Wii will be checked out. B-rolls are available as well. This party will be happening simultaneously with the GameStop, LA party.
