More emulation: MAME on PlayStation 3
Oh Jurai, you nutty guy. First you regale us with the promise of Super Mario Brothers action as emulated on the PS3, and now you bring old-school arcade goodness.
Jurai commented on our previous post on the PS3 Mario a few hours ago, saying that there was another video up. This time, he’s used the Linux OS on the PS3 to run MAME, and even showed a quick peek at arcade-styled Pac-Man.
For those who don’t know what MAME is, it stands for “Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator,” designed to play different arcade ROMs on your PC. Now, since Sony‘s new console is basically a computer that runs Linux, it seemed like a matter of time till someone decided to run a Linux-based MAME program on it.
In any case, why keep you from the video right? Here’s the clip uploaded by PowerofJurai onto YouTube. Enjoy!
