More Than Just Creating Kaos: Watch Kaos War Tech Demo
Back in June, a 40-person volunteer game development company called Shattered Reality Interactive set off to create one of the world’s largest MMOs. They made an internet reality series called “Creating Kaos,” which focuses on the team’s day-to-day work in creating Kaos War. They’ve just recently completed their first season of the series, and now they’ve come up with a tech demo of their work.
It’s a tech demo showing off the 3D engine for Kaos War. The camera swoops around a small area of one of their maps to give you a feel of what the game would be like. From what we could see, the graphics are quite well-done. And this is just a demo. We’re wondering what the finished product (with all the players and mounts and creatures populating the area) would look like.
The detail is great; you can even see the veins of the leaves when the camera zooms in on the branches of the tree. The grass looks a bit eerie though. It looks so fluid when it sways with the wind. This is a good thing by the way, because that means the graphics are realistic. It looks so real, in fact, that it’s actually creepy. It’s as if your character would actually be walking down the field with a sea of grass all around him. Very dramatic, but neat!
