New Halo 3 details on the Flamethrower and Firebomb
Halo deathmatches have always been hot, and Bungie Studios is looking to turn the heat up a notch in Halo 3 with the Flamethrower and an incendiary grenade called the Firebomb. Both weapons have been confirmed and will be making it into the game’s multiplayer, which should open up more avenues of attack for Xbox 360 gamers. We now bring you new details on how these weapons is set to take on the Xbox 360.

The Flamethrower, as we saw in the PC version of Halo, is an awesome weapon which could make really short work of any opponent caught in its stream of fire. The flaming liquid actually sticks to surfaces and causes more damage as long as the fire is burning. As powerful as the Flamethrower is, it will come with a few limitations that players must take into account.
First off, don’t expect to just spam fire into opposing players. The gun fires in bursts lasting for three seconds, so you’ll have to keep pressing the trigger over and over again to maintain a consistent stream. In addition to this, it’s a turret weapon meaning you’ll be using it in a third-person view making you move slower.

The Firebomb is simply a grenade with the same payload as the Flamethrower. The liquid flame will also stick to units and cause continuous damage. An advantage of this new grenade is the fact that players can actually create a wall of flame with a few of these babies, forcing opponents to take a “less advantageous” route in CTF.
Now that we know the pluses and minuses on both weapons, it would be easier for us to plan out our strategies when Halo 3 is released this September 25. So suit up Spartans, it’s time for a barbecue.
