New Super Mario Bros Info + Scan

In the latest issue of the “Nintendo Power” magazine Takashi Tezuka from Nintendo gets interviewed about the upcoming “New Super Mario Brothers” for the DS. In the interview it is revealed that it is not a Wi-Fi compatible game, however the game will still be a great adventure and will without a doubt sell like mad.

NP: Will we see any other beloved characters from the Mario universe, such as Yoshi, Toad, etc.? How about Bowser and the Koopalings?

TT: All of the characters you mentioned will show up except for Yoshi (laughs). Because weÂ’re trying to get back to the spirit of the original Super Mario Bros., Yoshi doesnÂ’t really fit.

Some interesting info:

  • The story is set in the Mushroom Kingdom.
  • There will be no boss battles in two player mode.
  • This is not a Wi-Fi compatible game.
  • It will not use the microphone in any way.

Also from a recent Japanese magazine there’s a few new screenshots. Our Japanese blogger is currently not online so we can’t reveal what’s said in the article, although I’m sure all the new screenshots will make up for it.
