The Darkness being developed by Starbreeze Studios is looking really sweet. Inspired by the comic book of the same name, this game places you in the shoes of Jackie Estacado. The dark and gritty style is still ever present in the new screenshots.

The FPS looks great but how is the game play? We’re expecting a lot from these guys since they were the ones who made Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. The U.S. release date of The Darkness for the Xbox 360 is still Q3 2007 and the exact date is still unknown.

As for the PS3 version of the game, it will be released in the U.S. by 2K Games on May 2007.
