A lot of Hideo Kojima fans must have been pretty anxious to see if he’ll announce his next project at the Tokyo Game Show. Don’t get yourself all worked up that he didn’t though.
Speaking to Famitsu, the Metal Gear creator revealed that his next project “should” be unveiled at next year’s TGS:
Until the end of this year, I have my hands full with Metal Gear Online, but at next year’s show, I think it’s okay that I should be able to announce something.
Last month, Kojima gave hints that he may start work on the next Metal Gear project, although he was still undecided on whether he will work on it himself, or if he will just act as the game’s producer.
Back then he said that he already had three concepts for Metal Gear Solid 5, but that he doesn’t want to tell these to his staff or else he’d have to work on the game himself. And we all know how he promised that MGS4was his last *wink wink*.
I wouldn’t mind either way. If he went back to Metal Gear, it guarantees that the franchise would remain faithful to his original vision of it. If he decides to work on a new project, well that just means we have a new Kojima game to look forward to.
