Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword developer interview video
Tomonobu Itagaki, legendary creator of the Dead or Alive series as well as the next-gen Ninja Gaiden franchise, talks about the unbelievably-smooth and wicked-looking slash-em-up on the Nintendo DS in this developer interview of Tecmo‘s Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword.
In this video interview, we find out that the reason Itagaki-san decided to make the title for the DS is that he wanted to make a game of Ninja Gaiden‘s caliber on the handheld, as he sees that there is yet to be a game made for the DS that’s of the same quality.
We also discover that, by all rights and purposes, Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword is a completely original title and not a port – in fact, we can even consider it a sequel of sorts, with the game’s storyline set during the events between Ninja Gaiden 1 and Ninja Gaiden 2. Awesome.
