Having trouble getting your Wii online? Well, Nintendo’s reportedly coming out with a new bit of kit that might seem redundant at first, but should definitely make connecting easier.
The company has announced the impending release of a “Nintendo WiFi Network Adapter” which should make it easier to connect to the internet. The router can actually be used with the Nintendo Wii, the DS, as well as PCs and other devices that require a net connection, though we’re assuming that it’s specially tuned and developed with the Wii and DS in mind.
The adapter has a switch on its back that enables three modes, Router, Bridge, and Auto. Router’s probably the usual mode you’ll be using as it’s the one that would normally allow you to get an internet connection on your Wii. Bridge Mode enables users to connect to another router, which will then communicate with your DS and Wii. Auto mode, on the other hand, automatically switches your network for you.
The adapter will go on sale in Japan on September 18, and will sell for 5,800 yen (US$ 53). Keep checking QJ for updates on this accessory, and let’s see if it heads to other territories in the future.
