Nintendo Assures Fans: Expect No PS3-style Delay For Wii

If it happened to Sony‘s PS3 it could happen to Nintendo’s Wii, right? Nope. Not according to a statement released by Nintendo:

Wii is on track to ship in Q4, Nintendo plans to ship 6 million systems to retailers around the world between its launch in the fourth quarter of 2006 and the end of its fiscal year on March 31, 2007.

The official statement was issued after Sony announced PS3 delay glitches. Needless to say, the word of assurance was greeted by excited Wii fans all over the world. The only thing that can make Wii fans happier is if Nintendo moves the Wii launch earlier. But that’s a long shot so this is it for now.
