Nintendo confirms April 11 Mario Kart Wii release date for Europe
Few things sound as sweet as a confirmation of the release date of a game you’ve been waiting for. In the case of Mario Kart Wii, Nintendo has officially confirmed that the European release date of the game will be on April 11. More racing news follows after the jump.
If you’re a fan of Nintendo characters burning rubber and outdistancing each other on the racetrack, then take heart: Nintendo has confirmed that European gamers will have the chance to try out Mario Kart Wii as it hits stores on April 11 – just one day after its previously rumored launch date.
Nintendo has also revealed that Mario Kart Wii will come with the Wii Wheel, and yet there will be a total of five different control options for players:
- the Wii Wheel
- the Wii Remote turned on its side
- the Wii Remote and Nunchuk combination
- the classic Controller
- the Nintendo GameCube controller.
As Nintendo had previously confirmed, a new Wii Channel – the Mario Kart Channel – will be launched alongside Mario Kart Wii. Players will be able to monitor their ranking against other players, access and share Ghost Data with each other and allow players to either watch or jump right into the middle of a race that’s currently in progress.
