Nintendo confirms future update of Wii’s OS
More than a month before Nintendo finally releases their much anticipated console, Wii consumers might be happy to know that they will be expecting more updates even after its release. One of these is Nintendo’s President Satoru Iwata‘s announcement that they would continue updating Nintendo Wii’s OS even after the launch. In his Wii interview, Iwata promised, “Wii is the first system from Nintendo that we can continue to be involved in (via operating system updates) after the customer buys it. This means that Wii will greatly expand and diversify the ways in which people will enjoy games in the future.”
The notable president of Nintendo sat down with other notable persons in the Nintendo company for a series of interviews about Wii. Genyo Takeda, General Manager of Nintendo’s Integrated Research and Development Division, Junji Takamoto, member of Product Developement of Nintendo’s Integrated Research and Development Division, Kenichiro Ashida, a designer in the Product Development Department of Nintendo’s Integrated Research and Development Division, and Kou Shiota, also a member Product Development of Nintendo’s Integrated Research and Development Division, are interviewed by Iwata and shared their thoughts on Wii. And Wii fans will be delighted that they all shared positive comments about the console.
Several information on the console’s development are revealed in the series of the interview, as well as plans of the company in improving Nintendo Wii.
