Nintendo DS to get downloadable content through Wii and Wi-Fi

Along with the New Year come new things to expect from our favorite consoles and handhelds, and the Nintendo DS is no exception.
Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime made passing comments about new upcoming features for their widely popular handheld, which include Wii integration and downloadable content, in an interview with the New York Times.
Fils-Aime also mentioned that the DS will also be able to download game samplers through the Wii console, which will wirelessly transmit the games to the DS. The new downloadable content feature will be especially prominent in the Professor Layton franchise for the DS, where players can wirelessly download additional puzzles.
However, it wasn’t clear whether the updates for Professor Layton will be sent through the Wii or directly to the DS.
