Nintendo DSi cracked open
Nintendo’s DSi has finally arrived in Japan, and as with many curious gadgets, certain folks cannot be stopped from dissecting and inspecting the hardware. With the DSi launched in Japan over the weekend, it’s no surprise that curious folks would want to dissect and inspect the new Nintendo handheld right to its bare bones. Watch Impress is one such curious folk, and they’ve got pictures to show for it.
The most obvious additions to Ninty’s third-gen handheld would be the refined stereo speakers and slightly larger LCD screens. However, a bit harder to find and more significant would be the DSi CPU stamped with “TWL” for the revision identifier. This one’s got a chip finalization date of 2007. The original DS and the Lite versions have CPUs produced in 2004.
