Nintendo: No plans for Kirby on Wii

For those of us anticipating a certain pink fluffball’s arrival on the Nintendo Wii, here’s some disappointing news: it seems that Nintendo doesn’t have any plans at the moment to bring Kirby into the next-gen scene, besides having an appearance at Super Smash Bros. Mario’s had his Galaxy, Samus got her Corruption, Link’s busy with his Twilight Princess – but what about the other other Nintendo mascot, Kirby? It seems that we’ll have to wait a little bit longer to see the pink cute fluffball of death’s next-gen debut, as Nintendo has announced that no, there are no plans to bring Kirby on the Wii as of yet.

This rather disappointing news comes from the ‘Ask Nintendo’ portion of the latest Official Nintendo Magazine, with a lucky reader asking about Nintendo’s plans with the all-singing, all-dancing black hole of Dream World. The answer, verbatim:

There are no plans right now for a Kirby game on Wii but there are plenty of Kirby fans out there, so in the meantime look out for Kirby in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl which will be released in 2008.

Well, at the very least, we’ll be able to take out our frustrations using Kirby in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. In the meantime, here’s hoping that somebody up in Nintendo remembers that they have other heroes beyond the plumber with the mustache.
