Nintendo readies the Wii-white Gamecube controller for Japan
Nintendo Japan has just revealed details about a new GameCube controller they’ll be releasing to their territories this month. The controller appears to carry all the same functions as the one on the original GC, save for a new color tone and a longer cable. More details are available in the full article.
Got that bookmark to your favorite import site on-hand? Good – because you just might be coaxed into getting this white GameCube controller Nintendo’s planning to release this month for Japan.
As far as tech specs go, the Wii-fied GC controller appears to contain all the same functions as its blue kin, save for an extra-long three meter cable. Not exactly as much range as the wireless Wiimote, or a WaveBird for that matter, but it’ll certainly give you more room to move about during a multiplayer match of Mario Kart Wii.
Nintendo plans to sell the Wii GameCube controller for a retail price of Â¥ 2,000 (US$ 20), though no exact date has been announced. Admittedly, Nintendo took their time with this peripheral, though we imagine there’s going to be a couple of Wii owners out there who’ll want this. Especially if they’re intent on keeping all their gear looking as immaculate as the console itself.
