Nintendo sues Nyko over Kama wireless nunchuks
Nintendo is suing Nyko Technologies over the possible infringement of Nintendo’s trademarks and patents following the creation of the Nyko Kama Wireless Nunchuk. Learn more about this after the jump.
Nyko‘s Kama Wireless Nunchuks certainly remind us of the good old Wii nunchuks, but do they infringe on Nintendo’s patents? That’s exactly what Nintendo is trying to get across, as they have sued Nyko for infringing on their patent designs and trademarks.
According to their federal complaint, Nintendo said that Nyko’s Kama “wholly appropriates the novel shape, design, overall appearance and even the color and materials used in the Nintendo Nunchuk controller.” The company asked the court to order Nyko to stop selling the Kama, and has requested cash compensation.
Nyko spokesperson C.C. Swiney responded to the accusation of Nintendo, saying, “We have not knowingly violated anyone’s intellectual property and we’re still examining this.” Let’s just hope this lawsuit doesn’t get too bloody for both companies involved.
