Nintendo to hold Wii olympics this July
With all the Wiis they’ve sold, Nintendo is confident that they have enough users out there to actually hold their very own sporting event. That they did. This July, Wii players from all over the country can challenge other players and face-off in the Wii Summer Games 2010.

You might say this is Nintendo’s version of the olympics, minus the accuracy and skills needed in actual sports. Well, the point is to encourage players to “Get up and get playing” and err…to sell more Wiis than they already did. If you’re insanely good at any of the following games, you might want to go for the gold.
- Wii Sports Resort – Basketball
- Wii Sports Resort – Bowling
- Wii Fit Plus – Hula Hoop Challenge
- New Super Mario Bros. Wii – Coin Battle
- Mario Kart Wii – Time Trial
Schedules, venues and a lot of other info are all posted at the Wiilympics’ official site, if you’re interested.
