NME-360 DVD FW Patch Mod, Team Underdog Website Launched
We’ve told you before about the NME-360 DVD patch mod that’s being developed by Team Underdog for the Xbox 360 consoles, and now the team’s own website has been launched.
The team talks about the NME-360 modchip’s ability to enable the Xbox 360 to play backups of original games, removing the necessity for dual mods with numerous wires or for bricking DVD drive by flashing, and the installation of this modchip via the provided pre-wired cables.
Another interesting feature of this modchip is the fact that it can’t be detected online when you’re playing an original online game as it “falls asleep” on its own when not in use. The NME-360 is able to auto-detect any inserted media and will inject the necessary information to the DVD drive if the media used is a backup.
According to Team Underdog, the first batch of the NME-360 chips is still being finalized for its July shipping. Hopefully, this “first real modchip” will do exactly all the things it says it can do – for gamers’ sakes.
