NRF lists top ten toys for boys and girls

Earlier today, we had a report about the top 50 internet topics on Lycos search engine. This time, we found a rather similar but more concrete list. National Retail Federation, the world’s largest retail trade association, listed the things that made it to children’s wish list this holiday season. The Holiday Consumer Intentions and Actions survey was conducted from November 1 to 8, 2006 with a sample population of 8,090 consumers.

Accordingly, it was designed to gauge consumer behavior as well as shopping trends related to the winter holidays. “Retailers can expect to see long lines of shoppers eager to get their hands on this year’s hot toys,” NRF CEO and President Tracy Mullin declared. Barbie, which appeared first almost 50 years ago, is still the number one toy for the girls while the boys prefer TMX Elmo. Several consoles and Nintendo’s handheld appear both on the boy’s and girl’s top ten.
