Oceanic Servers: in want of new realms
Parabol, over at the WoW Forums raised a concern regarding Oceanic Servers being… well, just inadequate. The Oceanic server issues has been around for quite a while.
Discontent among players are caused by several concerns like lag (which is a given), server overload and queues (which was resolved by creating new realms), and now the problem lies on server type. So far, (as the image above shows) there is only one recommended realm and it’s for PvP transfer. Players apparently want a RP PvP (role playing player vs player realm). Blizzard poster Drysc answered that they have no plans to open additional realms since the situation doesn’t call for it.
Well, it does seem reasonable to open up new realms only when needed – when congestion warrants it and to meet demands of a continually growing player base. Drysc concluded:
We do not open new realms to provide an easier leveling experience, realm firsts, etc. If you would like to create a new character on an Oceanic PvP realm there is one marked recommended where you may do so… We’re aware of requests for specific realm types and we’re definitely keeping them in mind for the future.
