Off shelves this week: more confirmation of Manhunt 2 pull-out by Target
On shelves last week, off shelves this week. After yesterday’s rumor of Target supposedly pulling out Manhunt 2 from retail shelves, we have more confirmation coming from other sources that the retail chain is indeed washing their hands clean off of Rockstar Games’ latest PSP, Wii, and PS2 title.
But the question remains… for what reason is Target doing this and how widespread has the “Manhunt 2 purging” gotten?
On shelves last week, off shelves this week. After yesterday’s rumor of Target supposedly pulling out Manhunt 2 from retail shelves, we have more confirmation coming from other sources that the retail chain is indeed washing their hands clean off of Rockstar Games’ latest PSP, Wii, and PS2 title. A GoNintendo reader by the name of DeitysWarrior just confirmed they’re removing the game from all of their stores.
DeitysWarrior, who works as an electronics specialist in Target, expresses the following as a comment in GoNintendo’s published article:
Trust me, I was extremely disappointed when I got the “Urgent Workbench Message” saying to pull all copies due to recent controversies. Target doesn’t want any liability when it comes to parents complaining. Therefore no complaints if the game isnt being sold.
We’re not sure of the extent of this rumor, and if they are indeed started pulling out the game from all stores, we’re not sure how widespread the “Manhunt 2 purging” has gotten. You guys might want to head down your neighborhood Target and check out for yourselves. In fact, maybe you can check out other stores too.
