Most of you guys have probably started with your Christmas shopping, but if you’ve been wondering what the perfect gift is, you might want to give this week’s Blu-ray releases a once over. What better gift than one’s favorite movie, right? That way, you can nuke the popcorn, sit back, relax, and watch some movies on your Blu-ray home entertainment system.

What’s on the list this week? We’ve got a beefier list this week compared to the last week’s scarce numbers. We’ve got a survivor and his friend Wilson, two hotshot assassins, a pair of adolescent boys, Elton John at 60, Queen, a number of double crossing pirates, and a monster from outer space.

Whoever said that marriage is like a battlefield was right on the money with the movie from 20th Century Fox, Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Meet John and Jane Smith, a normal couple married for 5 (or 6 years), and of course, seeing a counselor for their marital problems. As it turns out, both of them have a secret to keep. And a deadly secret at that.

Next comes Tom Hanks as lone survivor of a plane crash, Chuck Noland. Just how would an average Joe survive in a deserted island with only a number of odd things? Imagine having to build shelter, catch food, and spend 1,500 days there. Alone. You’d probably take a volleyball for a friend, too.

The last title for Pirates of the Carribean series, At World’s End centers on momentous ending to Captain Jack Sparrow’s adventures. If you think having to deal with Elizabeth Swann, Will Turner, Davy Jones, and Cutler Beckett was complicated enough, try adding Captain Barbossa, Sao Feng, and Calypso (Tia Dalma) and you’ve got a riot in your hands.
