One or Two Screens? Raid Over the River DS Development Post

Nibris, the company responsible for creating Sadness for Nintendo’s Wii, is hard at work on developing their shoot-em-up Raid Over the River DS. We’ve released screens and information before, but this time, Nibris itself is opening up development for player input.

Over at the Gamespot Forums, Nibris asked players whether they would prefer a single or dual-screen setup for gameplay. In this case, Single Screen mode is pretty much what we’ve already shown on screenshots, while Dual Screen mode would be more or less give the player more space to play, though with a lot of cost. NDSage also points out that there wouldn’t only be differences in gameplay, but also in the potential quality of the graphics, amount of total enemies onscreen, and frame speed, which is very important for vertical shooters, depending on which style Nibris eventually chooses.

If you have your own input, read the comments on Nibris’ post. At the very least, read it to know a little bit more about the tradeoffs for playing certain types of games, and how the processing works on the DS.
