Pac-Man leaderboards reset because of the Pac-Man World Championship
While we don’t have a resident Pac-Man champion on the QJ blog, we are excited about the upcoming Pac-Man tournament, if only for the simple fact that we get to see players who have enough skill to actually get to the coveted 999,999 points.
On a sadder note, the Microsoft Xbox 360 Pac-Man World Championship didn’t start on April 25 and has been moved to May 10 1:01 AM GMT. This was attributed to the fact that it hasn’t been accurately recording players’ scores, so those who have been getting 999,999 points may have actually gone unnoticed. So because of all this, they have announced that they will be wiping the leaderboards clean to ensure an even playing field when the tournament restarts.
Those who get past the initial rounds will get to compete in the finals on June 5 in New York City. A worthy achievement for any Pac-Man fanatic indeed. If you haven’t registered but would like to, there’s still time, so you can register via our read link.
