Phil Harrison talks about PlayStation Home

It looks like Sony is intensifying its PlayStation Home campaign as more and more news and official comments are hitting the streets. Today, the makers of the massive kingdom to come is interviewed and some new insights are revealed. Check it out:

No less than Sony stalwart Phil Harrison himself is giving us the new info on Home. One of the highlights of this video would have to be the part when the question of whether or not Home will be available by year’s end. No definite answer was given but a valuable disclaimer was dropped when it was stated that not everything that is Home will drop in one big splash. Like a lot of other MMO games, things will be added in increments to make up the greater whole.

Another cool question which was, in contrast, given a direct answer was on how PlayStation Home will make money. Some players have wondered why PSN and Home are free while other similar services are not. Advertising and corporate partners were two of the three answers, but the most interesting is the third means which is the sale of virtual items. This reminds us of some MMORPGs which are free to play but good have items that are to be paid for.
