Set in the 18th century Caribbean, Pirates of the Burning Sea (PotBS) combines role playing and pre-torpedo naval combat. Players can assume the role of captain, pirate, adventurer or a naval officer.

PotBS’s gameplay will focus on real time naval combat, with players controlling ship’s direction, speed, attacks and other special abilities. In PotBS, wind is an important factor that determines the ship’s performance. Actual naval tactics are also used in the game with typical battles lasting ten to fifteen minutes to complete. Battles involving multiple ships on each side will take longer.
The game will include both PvE and PvP combat as part of missions or ad-hoc encounters. In some missions, the plot will follow an ongoing story as the player’s character develops. PvP combats will involve conquering enemy nations’ ports. PotBS players who don’t want to engage in PvP have the options to avoid the PvP areas. Unfortunately, the game is yet to secure a definite date for sailing. And while we wait for the game to set sail, feast your eyes on two new screenshots released by Flying Lab Software.
