PlayStation Home UK downtime on Thursday, Fry Cry space to go live

Far Cry 2Good news, bad news. First, the bad news: PlayStation Home will experience a downtime for Europe this week. But here’s the good news: once the servers go back on, the Far Cry space will finally be available. (Heh! It’s about time, Ubisoft!) Speaking of spaces, the Red Bull space will also get an update, but it’s still unclear when it’ll happen.

We got a bit of good-news-bad-news today, folks. First up, the bad news. Over at the PlayStation EU forums, Home community team leader MusterBuster has announced that PlayStation Home will be going offline on January 22 (that’s this Thursday) in Europe. They didn’t announce how long the downtime will be, but it starts at 8am, UK time.

Now for that good news. The reason for the downtime is maintenance, but for the most part what concerns you is that Ubisoft‘s Far Cry 2 space will finally go live once the servers get turned back on. They didn’t seem to mention if there are any differences with the version for North American servers, but hey!, it’s still worth looking into.

Speaking of Home spaces, MusterBuster also revealed that the Red Bull Air Race will be getting a leaderboard some time soon, but it hasn’t been scheduled yet.
