PotatorDS Release 1: your friendly Watara Supervision emulator
Most of you have probably never heard of the Watara Supervision. Heck, we’ve only seen one of these, and that was back when Game Boys had no color.
It’s actually a Hong Kong-based handheld system that was touting itself as the low-cost alternative to the Game Boy. While it never really took off, its spirit remains alive through the miracle of emulation.
That being said, Normatt’s continued the whole process, porting the Watara Supervision onto the great grandchild of its competitor. Funny how life turns out, doesn’t it?
This is the first public release for the DS version, so there’s not much to it at the moment. Normatt’s readme says, “DS support is minimal at the moment and will only boot a rom named test.sv in the folder sv in the root of your cf/sd card.” Don’t expect too much out of this app just yet. Still, this should be a fun, nostalgic distraction if you can find the game files for it. Enjoy!
