PQI Announces 64GB 2.5-inch SATA Flash Disk
Fresh from introducing the world’s slimmest flash drive, Power Quotient International (PQI) has announced its 2.5-inch SATA flash disk product line that features storage capacity of up to 64GB. The flask disks, which use NAND flash memory chips from Samsung, will have a transfer rate of 25MB/s and will consume less power.
Flash disks, also known as flash-based solid state disk, are more durable due to the absence of delicate rotating mechanical parts. They are the next big thing in data storage and, it’s said, will soon replace traditional hard drives. No word yet on pricing and availability.
