Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has said that it will be coming out with Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) for the Nintendo Wii. Slated to be released in the first quarter of next year, this is great news for soccer fans everywhere.

The game is said to “offer the same level of realism” in this version. In addition to this, the game will be making use of the WiiÂ’s unique control scheme. The developers have given word that they plan on optimizing the control scheme to give players “total control over every aspect of the players.”

Pro Evolution Soccer Team Leader for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH Jon Murphy spoke about the impending release and how excited they are to release it:

We are extremely keen to introduce PES to as wide a selection of football fans as possible, and the Wii and its unique abilities are a perfect fit. The potential for PES on the format is enormous, and we look forward to a very exciting start to 2008.

If Konami delivers exactly what they announced on the press release, then this title will easily become the game of choice for hardcore soccer fans who own the Wii. Till it gets released though, we won’t be able to say that for sure.
