Project Gotham Racing 4: daring the mean streets in career mode
Heads up, racing fans. We’ve got a new video for Project Gotham Racing 4 that shows off some sleek visuals, highlighting the all new and improved career mode in this latest iteration to the series.
Gone are the repetitive races to reach the Platinum medal. Instead, Bizarre Creations has replaced it with a strict racing season that career mode players can follow to become number one in the street racing world. It follows a strict schedule of events according to your ranking, running from September to January in your given racing career.
Working your way from Amateur status, you’re given a set number of events in a single city to boost up your ranking. Every now and then you’re given special events, which earn you either kudos (the cash in the game) or even your own car as a prize until you eventually reach the Master ranking.
The new career mode is very unforgiving, too. You can only run a specific event once a year, so if you fail in one you’ll have to wait for it to come around the next year. Otherwise, Bizarre Creations called the shots for this one pretty well by giving PGR4 a more realistic racing circuit feel to the game. We can’t wait to get our hand on it when it ships out to the Xbox 360 on October 2.
