PS3 LocoRoco dated, new details revealed

LocoRoco Cocoreccho - Image 1After some time of not getting any updates about the quirky title LocoRoco Cocoreccho, Sony finally confirmed that the downloadable PS3 game will be out in Japan on September 21.

Since the game will be making its way to Japanese shelves next month, it’s a bit strange to note that not much is known about this title. Famitsu, however, supplied some tidbits regarding the LocoRoco title: the game’s full name is Oiedeyo LocoRoco! Boo Boo Cocoreccho!

The blurb in Famitsu also states that LocoRoco for the PS3 is very much different compared to its predecessor, which was published for the PSP. How different? This time players control a butterfly whose goal is to wake up the sleeping LocoRoco and call their attention, presumably to steer them out of trouble.

For those who can’t make heads or tails about the full title of this game here’s some info: “Cocoreccho” is what the butterfly is called within the game, while “Boo boo” is what the butterfly calls out to get the LocoRoco’s attention. “Oideyo” is somewhat akin to saying “come here” in Japanese.

It certainly sounds like an interesting title, a good way to while away the time (and at the same time flood our ears with cutesy gibberish music). Oiedeyo LocoRoco! Boo Boo Cocoreccho! will be available as a PSN download, and details about its U.S. PlayStation Network launch will be released soon.

More details as they come!
