PS3 sells for £ 375 at Woolworths’ this bank holiday

Heads up, British gamers: Woolworths is announcing a killer deal that will bring the retail price of the Sony PlayStation 3 game console down by £ 50 over the next bank holiday.

The deal, in which rates dip to £ 375 from the usual £ 425, should spell fantastic sales for the product according to Woolworth, especially when one considers the circumstances in the UK at present.

“This summerÂ’s indifferent weather has meant shoppers turning to indoor pursuits instead of going to the beach or a barbecue,” says Woolworth games owner Alastair Burks. “As a result games sales at Woolworths have hit record levels for this time of year.”

The retailer claims that this is the lowest that the PS3 prices have ever gone, and great value is present as there are two games, two Blu-ray movies, and an extra controller included in the bundle.

“Competition is intense in the games market and all the big retailers are cutting prices and offering deals to try and stay ahead of the game,” Burks adds. “We believe our PlayStation 3 deal is the best in the market and expect it to be phenomenally popular.”
