Oniyome Nikki is a Japanese blog about a husband who was being abused by his wife (the name translates to “Devil Wife Diary”). The blog was hugely popular, having crossing the 10 million hit mark, and ended up being turned into a book and drama. And now, it’s coming to the PSP as a game… or, as we like to call it, a glog.

Titled Jitsuroku Oniyome Nikki, you play as Kazuma, the poor husband who has to put up with his overbearing wife and troublesome daughter. The game is comprised of 66 episodes, based off actual blog entries. In the main mode of play, Anime Mode View, you view character dialogue sequences, occasionally selecting answers and responses. As you progress in your reading, new episodes become available for play. Older episodes can be replayed over and over again and can even be viewed in true blog format through the game’s Blog Mode View.

Also included is an omake mode where you can play a game of pachislot (called Oniyome Slot) and use medals that you’ve earned by clearing the adventure scenarios to purchase pictures and food. Items that you purchase in the shop will appear in some scenarios.

Oniyome Nikki will be one of the first Japanese PSP titles to feature internet compatibility. You can create your own original episodes, writing your text and selecting from characters, backgrounds and sound effects. The game lets you connect to the internet to exchange episode data with other players.

AQ Interactive will release Jitsuroku Oniyome Nikki to the Japanese PS2 on 2/23/2006. The game is being developed by Cavia and uses actual art from the blog.
