PSP No? Independent UK retailers not yet stocking PSP Go

As a result, two indie retailers in the UK have not registered a single pre-order for PSP Go, leaving their respective management teams to wonder if they’re gonna stock the new hardware.

For Chips exec Don McCabe, stocking is still an option, although it’s looking pretty bleak with the way things are going. “Certainly IÂ’m not getting the response from consumers,” he said, adding that not even the usual Day 1 buyers called to pre-order. ‘If suddenly I get a wealth of pre-orders then IÂ’ll reconsider my position, but right now I would have to say that itÂ’s not our intention to stock the product at this point in time.”

Chris Harwood, director at Grainger Games, goes more into detail and zeros in on the far-from-zero price. “price is too expensiveÂ… I can only go from the response from the consumers,” he said. “ItÂ’s not so much that I donÂ’t think the price is justified, but itÂ’s the customers who pay the money and they donÂ’t think itÂ’s justified. We canÂ’t see where that price justification comes in when effectively itÂ’s a lighter, slimmer PSP.”

What about you guys? What do you think?
