One of the primary reasons is because of its price: € 249.99 – which is around a stinging equivalent of US$ 367. Nedgame pointed out that the price is simply not justified with the portable’s features. For one, the retailer believes that the smaller screen isn’t just worth it. For a sizable € 80 (about US$ 117) less, they can get a PSP-3000.

Another reason is that selling the PSP Go may lead to their own detriment. Without a UMD drive for games that retailers could sell, Nedgame would basically be selling a device that they won’t be able to profit from later as compared to the first three PSPs. Nedgame also expressed their discomfort with the way Sony is trying to pull monopoly on software with digital distribution.

Eurogamer also points out that Nedgame will not be the only retailer in Holland to boycott the PSP Go. The same might go for retailers in Spain, where similar echoes have been heard.

On a more positive light for Sony, rumors of a possible PSP Go price reduction are floating around. If those turn out to be real, and if throw in a little something in it for the retailers, then they just might reconsider. Maybe.
