PSPKVM v0.3.1
Not more than a week after the merging of code from both pspME and PSPKVM, homebrew coders sleepper and M@x roll out a minor upgrade to the Java KVM for the Sony PlayStation Portable. And though PSPKVM version 0.3.1 sports just a few fixes, it does increase system stability, hike graphical performance upwards, and even add a new feature support. More at the full story.

PSPKVM version 0.3.1 is the latest update for the compact Java Virtual Machine for the Sony PlayStation Portable, and it comes with few but significant improvements. Homebrew coder sleepper and M@x has updated the merged code of PSPKBM and pspME in order to fix some hitches with the KVM and games with big memory appetites.
The coders have increased the heap for the Java runtime, so those OutOfMemoryError messages you keep getting on memory hogging games are less likely to happen now.
And it’s just as well – the PSP’s got 32 MiB of memory to wade through (64 MiB if you’re fit and right slim and light) and giving some more leeway in memory scratch-space is easy…peasy…Japanese-y? *looks around*
Also, PSPKVM version 0.3.1 comes with initial JSR75 support, and this gives the emulator the ability to access the host filesystem in its native format. There’s plenty of advantages with this handy feature extension, but right now it’s still pretty limited to what’s secure and what’s public in your PSP’s storage space.
The developers have also optimized the draw_rgb functions a bit, so you might notice performance gains on some games.
Now all you need to do is select which version of PSPKVM version 0.3.1 that you need, and then head on over to the official site of PSPKVM for installation instructions. Oh, and the key map is also available there, if you’re wondering how you’re going to use it.
And for the budding developer who loves to figure why things tick like they do, a full source code archive for the recent build is also made available.
