You can never get enough of puzzle games, admit it. They’re easy to pick up for casual play, and yet, they do get you fixated enough with the challenge to not be able to put it down. If that’s the case, then you are obviously in D3Publisher‘s market niche for its new handhelds title, Puzzle Quest: Warlords.

This game shines differently from among the more commonly styled ones as it incorporates role-playing and strategy elements along with classic puzzle-based gameplay. See, it’s not just about fitting pieces to the right places. At stake here is actually a full kingdom, the land of Etheria. Your goal is to save it from the evil forces trying to conquer it. And of course, to be able to succeed, you’d have to go through those puzzle challenges.

And there are a lot of them, actually. With a series of 150 quests, you can opt to play as a single-player, and go against the AI. If you want to skip through all the frills of quest-participation, you may then choose to go for Instant Action, where you get to play in continuous battles for level-up characters. But if you want to have some friendly competition with your peers, then the Multiplayer option would be the choice for you. The wireless connectivity for your handheld will take care of that.

Puzzle Quest: Warlords sets out to both the DS and the PSP for North America in March 2007.
