Rare Bird: A Nintendo World Store-Etched DS
Kotaku reader Jaime didn’t get the chance to attend E3, but he was lucky enough to make it to the Nintendo World Store E3 VIP party. He expected a gift of a DS title or a similar token, but he ended up with a rare Nintendo World Store etched DS. No, the store didn’t give away brand new DS units, but they etched the E3 and store logo on units brought by owners in the party. The first 12 people who dropped their DS off the store desk were able to get their newly-etched units on that same night. The rest of the 55 people who lined up had to pick their units up after the etchers have finished.
Jamie’s DS may not be in pristine shape, but with only 55 Nintendo World Store-etched units in the planet, it will surely command a high price on eBay. If he ever does sell it, that is.
