Red Faction: Armageddon other THQ games to get PSN/XBLA games before launch

THQ will be releasing Red Faction: Armageddon in March of next year. Before that, though, they plan to release a sort of prequel on PSN and XBLA.

THQ will be releasing Red Faction: Armageddon in March of next year. Before that, though, they plan to release a sort of prequel on PSN and XBLA.

Danny Bilson, THQ’s VP of core games, revealed that the downloadable game will come out about three to four months before Armageddon.

According to him, “it will have content you can download that is TV show-related, it will build up to the new game and also we can use it to drive pre-orders, too; we can give codes and aspects of it, we can give the whole thing away.”

Bilson added that it’s part of the publisher’s long-term plans to build buzz for their big releases. They’ll apparently be doing it again for the next Saint’s Row and their other upcoming games.

“You’ll see it on Red Faction, you’ll see it on Saint’s Row and a couple of others,” he said. “Not only that, we have a comic book coming on it as well. And in December we’ll announce the Saint’s Row situation, which is the biggest trans-media play anyone has ever done.”
