In an interview with gaming news site MyGEN, Insomniac games President and CEO Ted Price confirms that Insomniac does indeed have plans for future iterations of their PlayStation 3 game Resistance: Fall of Man.

When asked about patch updates and downloadable content, Price took the time to highlight the first patch for the game that’s already out, and the time and effort they took to balance the game experience. A bit of conversation about multiplayer features followed that, and then Price was asked if they’ll be able to top the already great weapon set in Resistance in future versions of RFOM. He had this to say: “Looking at what people proposed during Resistance, and seeing the excitement about the game at the company, I feel confident that as the franchise grows, we’ll be able to surprise people over and over again.”

There was a slight bit of talk about the Ratchet and Clank franchise again, and then he then goes to say this: “What I said today on stage is kind of a coy way of talking about the future. We designed Resistance: Fall of Man to be the first chapter  in a larger franchise.”

More from the oddly mutated Nathan Hale in the future? Sure! Why not. This is definitely good news for those of you folks who were worried that Resistance will end up as a one-shot launch title. At least now we know that they intended the thing to be bigger than it currently is.
