Resistance: Fall of Man patch soon to fall on “tactical issues”

Fixing some Jumping Flash glitches

Remember a while back when we featured a video showing a glitch in Resistance: Fall of Man, which caused the player to jump up and down like a raving Jumping Flash lunatic? CHUCKINGROCKSATSPACESHIPS even playfully commented that the game should now be called “Resist the Fall of Man.” (tee-hee, nice one!)

Maybe not for too long though. Insomniac Games is planning to flesh out their alien-shooter with a fixer. We’re not sure if this concerns the perpetual anti-Grav glitch, but they’re supposedly releasing a patch for the game soon. Lead Multiplayer Programmer Eric Ellis writes in his blog (which is currently down) that: “I can’t yet talk about all the things we’ve changed, but I really think that people will be very pleased to see how responsive this is to some concerns that have come out since we went live.”

Upon further writing, he later hints that the patch will focus on some issues with strategic tactics in the game:

We’ve addressed a few key balance issues and put a big focus on making it possible to more effectively use a variety of strategic and team-based tactics in the game. I’m very excited to see how people like the change when it releases. That should happen very soon, so stay tuned.

This might be their focus with the patch, but that doesn’t mean that this will be the only thing that’d be addressed. Personally though, I wish they’d keep the jumping glitch in the system. I kinda like getting those kinds of glitches. badam seems to agree, even.
