Retro Gaming Weekend Get-Away Slated For September
Pac-Man and Galaga lovers, listen up! Prepare yourselves for a weekend of nothing but retro games!
Following up on the success of last year’s Retro Ball at Kenilworth in the UK where over 200 people spent a weekend enjoying classic arcade machines, pinball machines and vintage computers and consoles, the organizers have slated a repeat of the event on September 30 to October 1 of this year.
Dubbed as “Retro Fusion::A Weekend of Gaming!”, this year’s event will be solely sponsored by the publishers of the Taito Legends games, XPLOSIV. They will be hosting a high score competition wherein the prize for the lucky winner will be a brand new PSP and a copy of PSP Taito Legends.
Janma+ will also be making their presence known and will be bringing along 30 arcade cabinets which will all be set on free-play. UKRetro, Console Passion and Retro Passion will also be showcasing a large range of retro consoles and computers that guests can play on. And for those with a bit more to spare, some of these consoles will also be put up for sale. Besides these games, there will also be pinball tables as well as pachinko machines.
Retro game celebrities such as Archer Maclean, Andy Nuttal, The Oliver Brothers, Jon Hare, Oli Frey, Roger Kean, Mathew Uffindel and Franco Frey have already confirmed their attendance and will be taking part in Q and A sessions.
