Revolution Studios announce Beneath a Steel Sky – Remastered
Industry veteran Revolution Software has announced that they have established a new division dedicated to the development and publishing of narrative-based entertainment for handhelds, specifically supporting digital distribution. In short, it’s a new publisher for the iPhone, iPod Touch, Android, PSP Go, DSi Shop and other similar devices. For its first project, they’re remastering their 1994 PC and Amiga hit, Beneath a Steel Sky.

In short, it’s a new publisher for the iPhone, iPod Touch, Android, PSP Go, DSi Shop and other similar devices. For its first project, they’re remastering their 1994 PC and Amiga hit, Beneath a Steel Sky.
This new iteration, simply dubbed Beneath a Steel Sky – Remastered, is initially slated for the iPhone and iPod Touch, while other versions in other platforms can still be possible later on. Fifteen years of gaming evolution will turn the 1994 classic into a new revolution with features and controls that weren’t possible when the game first came out.
So says Charles Cecil, founder of Revolution Software:
The adventure genre is undergoing a renaissance, and weÂ’re thrilled to be bringing a revamped and remastered version of this classic adventure to a whole new audience.

Beneath A Steel Sky – Remastered is just the start of what we want to do. We’ll be announcing more Revolution Pocket titles soon – some of which people will recognize, others which will be wholly original.
The new division, Revolution Pocket, will release Beneath a Steel Sky – Remastered into the App Store in Autumn 2009. Further game details and pricing will be announced at a later date.
