Rock Band out Nov. 6? Real world locations, Nirvana’s “Nevermind” confirmed

In the upcoming September issue of GamePro, some details on Rock Band (PS3, Xbox 360) are featured across a couple of its pages. We fished the info straight out of the official Rock Band forums, and thanks to cezar515, we get a sneak peek of GamePro’s three-page feature.

On top of songs from Metallica and The Who being available in the game, the same GamePro issue now reveals Nirvana to be in the list as well. Their album, “Nevermind”, will be available for download after launch.

Now while that’s got some of us pretty much sold to the idea of buying the game, it seems like Harmonix is really going to bring out the rock star in you on an international level. Rock Band will feature real locations from around the world, replicated virtually in the game’s World Tour mode. Here’s the list as posted by cezar515:

  • Rock Band - Image 1Amsterdam
  • Berlin
  • Boston (three confirmed venues: Charles Pub, in Somerville, The Establishment in Cambridge, and Hancock Theatre)
  • Chicago
  • London
  • Los Angeles
  • Moscow
  • New York
  • Paris
  • Reykjavik
  • Rio de Janeiro
  • Rome
  • Seattle
  • San Francisco
  • Stockholm
  • Sydney
  • Tokyo

Nice. Stockholm, NY… Rome?! A couple of forum goers have already been talking about ditching school and playing Rock Band at home when it finally comes out. Now while we don’t necessarily approve of playing hooky, we’re also given a bit of  a heads up on a possible release date for Rock Band. To once again quote from cezar515’s post:

And last but not least, in the final paragrraph it says, “On November 6, clear some space. Your living room is your stage, and your fans span the globe” So this might mean a Nov. 6th release date so far! Hey that’s better than a Nov. 20th release date.

There doesn’t seem to be any official confirmation of the release date though, but you can bet your rock star mojo we’ll be bringing you guys updates soon enough.
