Rockstar’s Neil Corbett on major differences between GTA4 versions *UPDATE*

Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto IV for Xbox 360, PS3 - Image 1Taken from a post on the Official Grand Theft Auto IV thread on rllmukforum.com, Rockstar Lead QA Neil Corbett explains the major differences between the two versions of GTA IV (for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360). You can find out exactly what Corbett had to say by reading the full article.

*UPDATE* Reports have come in that the whole Neil Corbett rllmuk post is fake, fake and fake. More in the full article.

Niko Bellic, main protagonist of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto IV - Image 1Neil Corbett, the lead QA for Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 4 (for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360), recently posted an interesting tidbit regarding the game on rllmukforum.com. He discussed the major differences between the two versions of the game as well as the exclusive content found on the Xbox 360 version.

Here’s a quote from Corbett explaining the fundamental differences between the two platform versions of the game:

Hello, as it stands the Xbox 360 version has the smoother framerate & far faster loading times (without any installing) but the PS3 version does have that warm feeling with bleached out sunsets & the like. The extra content of the 360 version is significant but nothing like an ‘extra Island’ at all- as the lead platform it is currently the superior version however. Just you wait until your first windscreen-flying experience.

It seems like the graphical difference between the two platforms is what sets the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game apart. However, we still have to see for ourselves exactly how the upcoming title will play itself out once it goes live.

Grand Theft Auto IV is slated to be released by the end of April and will feature good old Liberty City, which fans of the series are already more than familiar with. Keep coming back to this space for more updates.

*UPDATE* As pointed out by a couple of commenters (thanks, sickofitall and Thinker!), videogaming247.com has declared the whole rllmuk forum debacle as fake. According to videogaming247, a Rockstar spokesperson has confirmed that the Neil Corbett posting on the rllmuk forums is not Rockstar North‘s Neil Corbett.
